How to reset your password
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it from the sign-in screen using your email address.
#When to use this
Use this when you cannot sign in because you have forgotten your password, or when you want to set a new one for security.
#Step by step
1
Open the sign-in page
Go to the DevSphere OS sign-in screen and choose the forgot-password option.
2
Enter your email
Type the email address on your account and submit the request.
3
Check your inbox
Open the password-reset email and follow its link. If it is not in your inbox, check spam.
4
Set a new password
Enter and confirm a new password, then sign in with it.
#Expected result
What you should see
You receive a reset email, set a new password, and can sign in immediately with the new credentials.
#Common mistakes
- Requesting a reset for an email that is not on any account.
- Not checking the spam folder for the reset email.
- Setting a weak password that is easy to guess.
#Troubleshooting
| If this happens | Try this |
|---|---|
| No reset email arrives | Confirm you used the correct email, wait a few minutes, and check spam. If email is still missing, your workspace email delivery may need attention — see Troubleshoot email issues. |
| The reset link says it expired | Reset links are time-limited; request a fresh one from the sign-in page. |
#Best practices
- Use a long, unique password you do not reuse elsewhere.
- Enable two-factor authentication after resetting.
